I may be a little late to the party with this one, but there's no denying the strange power and charm of Babymetal's music.

   Pitched somewhere in the never-world between J-Pop, Daphne & Celeste and Kerrang!, the vocal/dance/metal trio blend kawaii-style music with crunching guitar sounds to surprisingly winning effect. On paper it would be easy to write group off as a novelty or flash-in-the-pan musical oddity but, against all the odds, Babymetal somehow manage to distill the most outlandish and cartoon elements of the disparate elements in their sonic mix and create a cohesive, and outright catchy, whole.

   Today's Music Monday song is called "Gimme Chocolate!" Forrest Gump once said that in a box of chocolates "you never know what you're going to get next." With this song, even after a couple of listens it quite impossible to understand which musical twist is just around the corner and what will come next. Ultimately, it doesn't matter - like Tom Green, it's not here to be understood, just loved unconditionally. Here's the pleasantly baffling single by Babymetal:
